Our Identity
The sub-prefecture of Gbangbégouiné-Yati, located in the Man department of the Tonkpi region, is a locality in western Côte d'Ivoire. Nestled between the region's green mountains, it brings together several villages with strong historical and cultural bonds.
Since August 2024, sub-prefect Arsène Takouo has placed youth, agriculture, and local development at the heart of Gbangbégouiné-Yati's priorities.
Several distinguished individuals from this land contribute to the community's renown:
- Bleu Charlemagne: Senior Police Commissioner and former spokesperson for the national police. Also President of the Ivorian and International Maracana Federations (FIMADA & FIMAA).
- Late Kossa Anatole: Senior civil servant, former advisor and administrator, known for his political involvement.
- Late Oulai Sieni: Former Minister of Justice, an emblematic figure of the Ivorian legal system.
These individuals reflect the human richness of Gbangbégouiné-Yati and inspire future generations.

The sub-prefecture of Gbangbégouiné-Yati was created to improve administrative organization and support balanced development in the region.
When was the sub-prefecture born?
The sub-prefecture of Gbangbégouiné-Yati was created by decree n° 2008-97 of March 5, 2008, in order to improve administrative organization and local affairs management.
A Progressive Development
The official creation of the sub-prefecture was accompanied by the establishment of the first administrative services and the renovation of the offices, in the presence of Minister Anatole Kossa.
Development and Prospects
Since its creation, the sub-prefecture has seen numerous advancements in various fields, ranging from education to infrastructure, with projects aimed at improving the lives of its residents.
