Gbangbégouiné-Yati: A Land of Values, Unity, and Commitment, Where Tradition and Modernity Meet to Build a Strong and Sustainable Future

The sub-prefecture of Gbangbégouiné-Yati, located in the Man department of the Tonkpi region, is a locality in western Côte d'Ivoire. Nestled between the region's green mountains, it brings together several villages with strong historical and cultural bonds.

Since August 2024, sub-prefect Arsène Takouo has placed youth, agriculture, and local development at the heart of Gbangbégouiné-Yati's priorities.

Several distinguished individuals from this land contribute to the community's renown:

Bleu Charlemagne: Senior Police Commissioner and former spokesperson for the national police. Also President of the Ivorian and International Maracana Federations (FIMADA & FIMAA).
Late Kossa Anatole: Senior civil servant, former advisor and administrator, known for his political involvement.
Late Oulai Sieni: Former Minister of Justice, an emblematic figure of the Ivorian legal system.

The sub-prefecture of Gbangbégouiné-Yati was created to improve administrative organization and support balanced development in the region.

When was the sub-prefecture born?

The sub-prefecture of Gbangbégouiné-Yati was created by decree n° 2008-97 of March 5, 2008, in order to improve administrative organization and local affairs management.

A Progressive Development

The official creation of the sub-prefecture was accompanied by the establishment of the first administrative services and the renovation of the offices, in the presence of Minister Anatole Kossa.

Since its creation, the sub-prefecture has seen numerous advancements in various fields, ranging from education to infrastructure, with projects aimed at improving the lives of its residents.
